Anna Panagou of Chiotelis & Co becomes Mediator, accredited by the Piraeus Mediation Center (KEDIP). Our firm’s commitment to Alternative Dispute Resolution and in particular Arbitration, has prompted our expansion to additional methods of settling contentious matters.

We proudly announce that our firm has been granted an ISO 9001:2008 certification by the Lloyd’s Register QA, for the standards we adopt in providing shipping, commercial law and consultancy services. Our primary objectives are to provide a first class, superior and cost effective service to our clients, that meets their needs and expectations, as well as to ensure customer value, and the global Quality Assurance organization has recognized our efforts towards both ends.

Chiotelis & Co recognizing the high quality of its participants, as well as the significance of such events for the Greek shipping industry, supports the 2nd forthcoming Naftemporiki Shipping Conference for the second consecutive year, and becomes Bronze Sponsor of the big annual event.

On Friday 20 November at 1806 hrs M/T ALHANI sailed free from the port of Agioi Theodoroi in Korinthos. The vessel was the subject of a two and a half year seizure arising from a fierce legal battle between a creditor and the Libyan State. Fifteen court hearings took place in total during these years and before the vessel breakes free. Chiotelis & Co represented the owners of the vessel, DEEP SEA MARITIME LTD of Malta, from the outset. This is a cause for celebration and special thanks to all the participants to this effort.

Among the first members to join our team, our esteemed colleague Anna Panagou has just been admitted as a Greek lawyer to the Court of Appeal. We would like to congratulate her and wish her success in her involvement in contentious work.
